Marilyn Kagan, LCSW, has been in private practice for over 25 years. Kagan is well-known and respected as one of the media's most sought-after psychological experts. Her popular talk show on KFI radio station in Los Angeles, aired for seven years, and she hosted the Emmy-nominated Marilyn Kagan Show for three years. Kagan has been a frequent contributor on all major television networks―both news and talk shows―including a stint as guest host on E!'s Talk Soup. She also played Ellen DeGeneres' therapist on her popular sitcom "Ellen." She holds a master's degree in social work from San Diego State University and did her post-graduate training at various institutions, including the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute in psychoanalytic psychodynamic therapy. Kagan's professional credentials also include supervising family therapist for eight years at the Linden Center, a residential program for emotionally and physically abused children in Los Angeles. She was the co-founder of the California Artists Human Services, a non-profit mental health organization serving those struggling in the entertainment industry. Kagan resides in Los Angeles with her daughter and two dogs.
